The long awaited USDA, wheat, durum report

The farmers and markets finally get to know what is in the United States Department of Agriculture report on wheat, durum report. The report will show how much of the spring crops actually got planted. The report will also deal with the regional issues, floods and droughts.

Durum wheat, used to make pasta, will be at its lowest acreage in North Dakota where most of it is grown USDA said in early July, projecting it to be, at harvest, 970,000 acres, down 46 percent, with yields way down, too. The northwest part of the state, the heart of the durum-growing region, also was the place worst hit by flooding and heavy rains. Read more ...
