AFIA: Liquid Feed Symposium attracts 185 attendees from niche fields; Dr. Chet Fields inducted into hall of fame

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) recently held its 42nd Liquid Feed Symposium.  The 2013 Symposium attracted more than 185 attendees to St. Louis, Missouri, USA from the 10th - 12th September as a source to educate and promote the agricultural liquid supplement industry.

The event is the country’s largest gathering of liquid supplement leaders in manufacturing, nutrition, quality, sales and marketing, boasting high-quality speaker presentations, research funding reports, achievement recognition and the Liquid Feed Symposium Trade Show.

“AFIA is extremely pleased with the Liquid Feed Symposium’s turnout and looks forward to the 2014 event in New Orleans, Louisiana.” said Joel G. Newman, AFIA president and CEO. “This group of people from an important niche in the feed industry showed an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the strong program throughout the conference.”

Dr. Michael Swanson, a Wells Fargo Agriculture Economist, was the event’s keynote speaker, presenting on the topic of the U.S. energy revolution. Swanson explained the complex factors influencing the agricultural economy, reiterating that the relationship between corn and ethanol is a weakening partnership, which will inevitably affect the price of grain.
