The 6th Protein Summit has got underway in Rotterdam, the Netherlands with an opening plenary by Prof Dr Rob Hamer, VP Discovery, Unilever. Organised by Bridge2Food, the two-day summit will focus on how to provide protein for a growing world population.
After the opening sessions, the summit will split into three tracks which will each address a different aspect of protein production. The themes are: Future supply & demand: the global agenda
Health: exploring new health domains for proteins
Technology: new technology & process contributions
Grain and Feed Milling Technology’s publisher, Roger Gilbert, will be chairing the technology track on both days. Topics include keeping and adding value; managing future supply and use; protein supply challenges in growing the animal feed business in Europe.
The Protein Summit 2013 is the merger of three Bridge2Food platforms, which have been successfully organised since 2008: The Protein Summit, Protein Technology innovations, and Food Protein innovations. The Protein Summit is the annual platform for the global protein industry.
