After hurricane Irene, farmers urged to get crops tested

The aftermath of hurricane Irene has left devastation not just in the destruction of the towns and cities but also in the farmland. Farmer are being urged to get their corn crops tested for toxin levels. The toxic mold need certain conditions to develop and after rainfall the conditions are perfect for aflatoxin to develop. Aflatoxin is a by product of the mold known as aspergillus flavus. Read more ...
