04/07/2014: Ukraine harvests over 2.4 million tonnes of grain

According to operative data of as of July 1, Ukraine harvested 2.475 million tonnes of early grains and pulses throughout the areas of 891,000 ha, or nine percent of the planned areas without the Crimea. The average yield totaled 2.78 tonnes/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on July 1, 2013, agrarians harvested 5.548 million tonnes of grains throughout 2.174 million ha, with the average yield of 2.55 tonnes/ha.

In particular, Ukrainian agrarians harvested winter wheat throughout 227,000 ha. The produced volumes totaled 620,000 tonnes with the yield of 2.72 tonnes/ha.

Agrarians harvested winter barley throughout 655,000 ha. The produced volumes reached 1.841 million tonnes with the yield of 2.81 tonnes/ha.

Also, Ukraine harvested 15,000 tonnes of peas throughout 8000a, with the average yield of 1.81 tonnes/ha.

Ukrainian agrarians started harvesting winter rapeseed. The harvested areas reached 112,000 ha, the volumes – 186,000 tonnes, the average yield – 1.66 tonnes/ha.
