22/07/2014: Fire at feedmill causes US$1 million damage

A fire in a dryer caused more than US$1 million in damage at Nutrition Service Company near Pulaski in Missouri, USA on Monday.

The Pulaski Tri-County Fire Department was called to the feedmill at W249 Deer Drive, about two miles northwest of Pulaski, around 13:30. Firefighters from other area departments were summoned to the scene shortly before 14:00. Crews remained on the scene as late as 20:20.

Heavy black smoke was visible at the scene and aerial trucks were pouring water on one of the structures at the business, according to Press-Gazette Media photo editor Jim Matthews, who was at the scene.

There were about 20 fire trucks from a number of agencies at the scene. They included the Bonduel, Shawano, Gillett, Navarino-Lessor, Green Valley and Howard fire departments.
Pulaski Tri-County Fire Chief Randy Wichlacz said there were no reports of injuries.
