Today's milling music video, courtesy of John Fahey, has a special history.
Sligo River blues takes inspiration from Sligo creek, a free-flowing tributary of the Anacostia River in Maryland. The creek powered Sligo Mill, which, before its demolition in the 1920's, distilled whiskey and milled grain for local farmers.
The Creek served as the inspiration and title for the song and popularised the area amongst folk artists.
Enjoy!
