- As part of its plan to increase meat output, Russia’s agricultural giant, Miratorg, reported that it increased feed production in the first nine months of 2015 by 10 percent compared to the same period of time a year before.
- Chinese sugar demand is expected to hold steady at 16 million tons this year, and lower corn prices are expected to give corn-based additives an advantage in the sweeteners market, according to Liu Hande, deputy secretary general of the China Sugar Association.
- Myanmar imports of palm oil have reached 400,000 tons per year to meet demand, according to the Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers Association. Annual per capita edible oil consumption is estimated to be 12 kilograms per person per year, or approximately 600,000 tons per year nationwide.
- India is expected to produce 7.2 million tons of soybeans in 2015, down 15.3 percent year on year, due to erratic rainfall in the country’s top producing regions, according to Laxmichand Aggarwal, president of The Central Organisation for Oil Industry and Trade (COOIT).
