General manager of CBH operations David Capper says despite wet weather at harvest time, the grain quality has remained strong.

In December the national commodity forecaster ABARES dramatically revised down harvest forecasts, with New South Wales and Victoria harvesting their smallest crop in some years.

The harvest was tipped to be 37 million tonnes, 16 per cent down nationally on last year's harvest, but still four per cent above the ten year average.
