Moving towards a sustainable world, GLOBALGAP is always seeking to lead the market and support trends setting good practices at farm level.
Animals raised
for human consumption are one part of this – not just the animals themselves,
but also the appropriate and sustainable sourcing of raw ingredients for their
feed.
Increasing
demand from consumers about this issue has led GLOBALGAP to develop a voluntary Add-on Standard to the
GLOBALGAP Compound Feed Manufacturing (CFM) Standard and other benchmarked standards.
This Responsible Operations Standard (ROS) for
Compound Feed Manufacturers works to improve the sustainability of
compound feed production.
The first draft version of this ROS for CFM is now open for public
consultation until 15 February 2015.
We invite you to
participate in this process and to send your feedback to standard@globalgap.org.
This Add-on is
intended to be implemented on a voluntary manner.
Those feed
mills that are currently certified and supplying compound feed to livestock and
aquaculture GLOBALGAP certified farms will have the
option to upgrade on responsible practices through compliance with this ROS
Add-on, which will be reflected on the certification at farm level.
