New investments in Russia´s agriculture
Russia plans to increase the domestic agricultural production by 40% by 2020. The program sees investments of 19 billion euros for the purchase of new machinery and the modernisation of the agricultural sector.
As Russia´s domestic industry cannot meet the high need, foreign manufacturers can benefit from these new export opportunities. The demand is especially high for agricultural machinery, animal husbandry technologies, equipment for slaughtering, greenhouses, cold storage houses, grain storage facilities and biomass units.
Novosibirsk Region
Among the Russian regions, Siberia in particular is in need of modern machinery and technology. Novosibirsk Region harbours the largest arable lands in Russia and ranks among Russia´s top ten agricultural producers. The regional agriculture focuses on grain crops, potatoes and vegetables. Animal husbandry plays a significant role in Novosibirsk Region as well and concentrates on beef and dairy livestock, pig, poultry and sheep farming.
Due to the Siberian climatic conditions - long cold winters and short hot summers - the vegetation period is relatively short and therefore requires efficient machinery.
